I’m so happy for apple! They’re fucked either way. They can no longer depend on Americans to buy their products. I wonder if shithead will eventually have to bail them out, and then take a cut of their profits.

Right? What’s the point if it doesn’t create jobs? I guess it’s still “winning” to take jobs away from China, but who’s going to have the money to buy a “made in the USA“ iPhone?

One would have thought that he at least talked a bit with Elon about his experiences with the topic.

I have experience with designing manufacturing equipment, and it really isn’t as easy as you may think.

That was Musks plan for the Tesla factories and such, but he had to give up on much of the automation plans.

Machines are too bad at handling deviations from standard measurements or accidents, and the delays these things can cause when there aren’t many people on the site means that the savings on labor quickly gets eaten up.

Yeah the only thing cheaper than slave labor is no labor cost. Morally at least right? But enjoy living next to the pollution from the factories and data centers.

He’s already given him at least one, like all of the other tech billionaires at the inauguration.

But what they failed to understand was that one of Trump’s major innovations was moving corruption from a one time payment to a subscription model.

      Karma’s a bitch.

I can see concepts of a theory of a plan of how the US could try to bring manufacturing back and it could work if they had a 20-year plan to raise tariffs by 1% a year and promote long-term subsidies for education and factory/infrastructure construction and to build a political consensus…but that would take lots of skill and discipline…this…dude wants to break everything, build factories and know-how overnight, lol. All while kicking out immigrants, so you have both a shortage of labour, inputs and products.

Unclear if he actually wants to do that. He may just want to make money off of his crypto meme coin and via market manipulation.

Its up to his supporters to see through the facade but given the average education level in the US (>50% read at a grade 6 level, not even high school) and general addiction to social media, it’s unlikely.

this guy is so fucking boned that he’s conflating the covid-era remote working (which he’s supposed to be rallying against) with - correct me if i’m wrong - physical manufacturing. right? am i high?

I like how tech bro garbage will just nod their heads at this. Their total lack of self-respect cracks my shit up.
