So not only did trumps stupid fantasy rants piss off our one of our two closest neighbors and centuries old friend, its now cost the USA multiple billions of dollars in business. For what? We gained nothing and lost so much.

Yes, this is the art of the Trump deal. We all lose, but he, the billionaire, wins. Fuck the poor, he will gain despite them dying. This is America in 2025.

Thats the thing on this one. No billionaires are even winning with this. Many multi-millionaries or close to billionaires are losing on this too. I could understand (but be angry) if this was more billionaire grift, but no one wins from this except possibly the EU defense industry.

Yes they are winning because they already fucking won by having billions of dollars. Their goal is to widen the wealth gap as much as possible. Then us poors are unable to fight back when they unleash mercenaries on us

How would the rich in the USA losing billions of dollars of defense spending widen the gap? The story works against what you’re saying because the USA rich are less rich with Canada’s actions here. Thats what doesn’t make sense.

The goal for them isn’t to have the most money relative to you, it is to make you have no money and be in utter desperation. Then any kind of work that feeds you and your family will be acceptable. Any orders from a billionaire will be followed out of sheer terror of starvation or torture or whatever else the billionaires intend to use as coercion.

When things are going well, billionaires make lots of money but people who are comfortable pick and choose what they are willing to sell. They have income so want to hold on to their assets while they pay their expenses using that income. They can also commit to financial obligations while being confident their income will cover it.

When things aren’t going so well, income can fall and force people to sell assets to cover their expenses. And those financial obligations can end up underwater, forcing them to give up assets.

At the end of the day, wealth isn’t money. That’s just the vehicle used to access wealth. Real wealth is things like property ownership, means of production, the resources to feed that production, food and fuel to keep it all going, weapons to protect yours and attack others’, followers to do your bidding (that generally need to be paid in access to the others).

When the stocks crash, the mega-wealthy can buy up as much as possible. This is what happened after 2008 and 2020.

People with less than a billion dollars always suffer in market crashes while the mega-wealthy run out the back with all the money.

“Socialize the losses, privatize the gains.”

Not to mention Trump personally gains from all the bribes he takes. There’s a reason all those CEOs gave Trump a million dollars each before the inauguration.

Yes the Trump is made of Trump.

But maybe we can hope this will make the MIC unsustainable and America will no longer be known for being the largest boot that can be put in someone’s ass

Holy shit, the first thing I see when I visit that website is a popup telling me to either pay them, or accept that they are going to track me and sell the data to over 400 third parties. Fuck that.

Why make a defense pact with the only nation threatening Canada. Canada would rather work with the EU.

Maybe Trump will have better luck with Mexico in trying to sell his Golden Dome idea he got from his good, good friend Bibby.

I guess they’re choosing not to become the 51st. Good on them and fuck this version of the US. This is what strong leadership looks like, good on ya, Canada!

Good for them cutting off. But the insane amount of military spending is nonsensical. Where was all this money for global warming?
