Lots of interesting development from Intel. It’s the first time I’ve heard of them building out mature node product lines with UMC.

Intel has already shared early versions of the Process Design Kit (PDK), a set of data, documentation, and design rules that enables the design and validation of a processor design, with its lead 14A customers. Intel states that multiple customers have already indicated their intention to build chips using the 14A process node.

But it seems they have no customers for 18A or the specialized 18A nodes.

This is a pretty big development for Samsung’s semiconductor foundry if the product is competitive.

They haven’t had a major win like this in a while.
