U.S. Sen. John Fetterman is more popular among Pennsylvania Republicans than fellow Democrats, according to a new poll of state voters.

Susquehanna Polling and Research president James Lee told PennLive Tuesday that Fetterman’s overall approval rating among state voters is a “mediocre” 41%, compared to 37% who disapprove of him.

However, the eyebrow-raising result that 45% of Republicans approve of Fetterman while just 40% of Democrats do will surely get political tongues wagging from Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C.

So he basically hired a very progressive PR team, followed their lead until he got elected, then 180’d on all his views. After that, the progressives he hired started to quit, and he lost the ability to continue to project himself as a progressive.

Here is a pretty good deep dive on the situation.

He was elected while running against Dr. Oz so not like there were good choices.

I’ve seen this tactic before tho. Like the owner of the 76ers wanted to build a new stadium in Philly, but knew people would protest it because there are already a lot of sports stadiums. So he made a big push to advertise that it would be built like right in the middle of a neighborhood faaaarrrr away from all the other stadiums. Everyone protested THAT and after a few weeks the owner capitulated. He was like “FINE , I’ll build my big, expensive, tax break garnering stadium by all the others,” which is what he actually wanted from the beginning.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fetterman was supported by Republican interests for a similar purpose.

The arena thing took like 2.5 years start to finish, not a few weeks. Also with how many millions they spent on advertising and paying union guys to sit in city council I’d be shocked if they didn’t actually want to build in Chinatown.

Not sure if he’s Republican. But Democrats have their pantys twisted over him and that plays right into the Republicans playbook.

This article is a good opportunity to signal how the left will crucify anyone that isn’t in lockstep so it’s a great for media to highlight this type of story in hopes that anyone with a public voice should evaluate if they would ever risk siding with the left on anything.

Otherwise this whole story is literally not news worthy but we hear a new one every week. It’s a signal

Pretty sure this guy’s character arc is a combination of brain damage from the stroke and inability to responsibly handle newly acquired power.

If it behaves like a republican it’s a republican. If it says it’s a democrat it’s still a republican, just in marketing mode.
