Nice, love a single under 2 minutes long! Sounds like the drummer would not be out of place in a thrash metal band.

There’s a reason you don’t see very many punk rock djs. There is no Stairway to heaven an equivalent. To take bathroom breaks on. But LOL yes short track lengths are common between Punk and Psychobilly.

I just kinda assumed that’s bc back in the day it was hard to find enough punk songs without cuss words that you could play on the radio.

That probably played some part as well I’m sure. But having done some sets with Punk/ psychobility. The tracklist is usually double that of a regular set. Which isn’t a big deal if you just picking things out at random and just playing whatever. But if you’re actually planning a set out. It’s twice the work for the same amount of time.

Remember when we were talking about Jeff Mills a couple weeks ago? That’s exactly what made/makes him such an outstanding techno DJ. Not the music he composed, but that he’d only play a minute or so of each song before mixing in another.

You can’t really “mix” punk songs like that tho, it’d be too much energy for too long a time, there’s a reason the songs are that short.
