    Meanwhile, HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys has claimed that the Harry Potter TV show hasn’t “felt any impact” from Rowling’s anti-transgender views, insisting, “It hasn’t affected the casting or hiring of writers or production staff or anything.”

    This should be taken with heavy skepticism, Rowling is notoriously controlling and her anti-trans bias absolutely could impact casting and staff choices.

    “well this sort of thing has never personally affected me so I’m not sure why you’d think I’d care. I can’t possibly know every little thing about some fringe of society, and frankly, I’d rather not get into it. It sounds unpleasant. I’m sure this will all blow over in no time. I just have to refuse to educate myself or pay any attention to people like my ‘dear’ friend and their concerns.”

    As for whether the criticism has soured the role for him, Lithgow replied, “Oh, heavens no.”
