Montreal to La Paz Bolivia is almost 7000 km. Montreal to Budapest is 6600ish km. So the western hemisphere also can be half way around the world from Canada. You could reverse it and argue “It makes more sense to shore up relations in the Northern hemisphere than to go halfway around the world.”

If Trump had not campaigned on bringing down egg/grocery prices, I would agree with you.
In this case though, he promised to lower prices and that makes him a valid target for criticism since he promised he could do something about it and now obviously can’t.
Obviously the party that has shit the bed every time they have been in office but luckily not in the last few years
