I’m now wary of crocs since I sprained my ankle while wearing them.
Is this the one that goes through reservations, where we send the RCMP to steal even more land and displace the protesting natives?
Is he inspired by the CAQ in Quebec or something?
The CAQ have been juggling with the idea of a third bridge or tunnel between Québec City and Lévis because, comgestion, and in case one of the two already existing ones becomes unusable.
So we have cuts in education and health care, they can’t possibly give money to social programs, BUT, there would be 10 billion somewhere to build this “third link”.
Hah. I live alone, no kids, no house, no car. And I am usually fine with that.
I live in a tower in the downtown of a big city and have a very nice view. I share a pool, a terrasse and gym on the roof. No need to maintain the pool, the concierge does that. No driveway to plow in winter, no grass to cut in summer. No house maintenance.
I have free time and disposable income. I can travel anywhere I want, pretty much when I want it. I’m on my second trip in the Carribean since the beginning of the year.
In summer I take multiple days to cycle for hundreds of kilometres to go camping/hiking in national parks and explore the great bike network of my region. I live on an island, pull my kayak with my bike and explore the waters around whenever I feel like it.
Seeing my friends with kids not being able to get a free weekend once every few months, I don’t mind how things have turned out for me.
Apparently I need to invest in democracy to read more.
But yeah. When I was a young adult I thought the U.S. couldn’t do worse than W. Bush. Then the first Trump presidency, then another.
It’s becoming pretty clear that the U.S. is not reliable and could turn on its supposed allies at any moment.
We’re gonna have to put as much distance between the U.S., and us, as possible. Apparently that’s what some U.S. voters want amyway.
As someone that lived on dial-up, the format and size of an image will absolutely not slow down a gigabit connection.
I’m from a previous generation so for me it was my parents buying me Leisure Suit Larry 7 for Christmas.
If enough people voted, the Democrats would have given people free health care, stopped financing wars, torture and genocide, improve public transit, boost public education, and lowered the cost of groceries. If only enough people voted for the Democrats, they could be in power and bring change. They just need a super majority to install a welfare state and turn into pacifists. Of course!
Even if the tariffs are paused for a month, he’ll constantly use this as a threat now. If not saying again that we should be the 51st state.
I was already avoiding travelling to the U.S., now I’ll make sure I also avoid their products.
Even if there’s no tariffs, the U.S. has proven to be an unreliable “friend” and we should continue to diversify away from them. With friends like that, you don’t need enemies.
The US government already didn’t care what the public supports or not. They were already financing an unpopular genocide. That orange dictator is replacing key people with idiots loyal to him and his cause. So it won’t get better.
Times and times again people have defended that orange turd, saying we were misinterpreting, or he was joking, or that he couldn’t do that, only for him to do it, and get away without any consequences.
If you think this is not a serious possibility, you have not been paying attention.

It never existed. It’s always been just an illusion to keep the poor in their place.
We have billionaires and now centibillionaires but the problem is immigrants and environmental laws, obviously.
Of course. With all the power, Democrats would have stopped financing genocide. Only with absolute power can the Democrats improve public transit, provide clean water, lower the cost of groceries, tax the rich and generally fight for the people they are supposed to represent. Without absolute power, they have been forced to continue financing genocide and ignore the problems of the common people.
If only more people voted for the Democrats, Americans would have free health care, better education, and they wouldn’t be owned by corporations. If only enough people voted for the Democrats, Americans would be living in a much better place. Just like when Democrats where in power the last times, it was utopia. Obama even closed Guantanamo!
I tried AliExpress a few times but I live in a tower and about half of the things I order from them are marked delivered, but I can’t find them.
Sometimes the courrier even calls my apartment, I open the door downstairs, the package is marked delivered, but I can’t find it.
We even have secure lockers but they don’t use them.
I’d really like to order more from them but it’s a gamble every time.
I didn’t vote at the last federal election. I wouldn’t have voted for a Conservative, but I was extremely disappointed by both my Liberal and NDP candidates.
Right now my MP is the Greenpeace militant that is now a spokesperson for the oil companies, also supposedly the environment minister.
Even if they protest and don’t want it, natives are gonna have a pipeline through their land. But no clean water.
Also, rail worker? Get back to work. Postal worker? Get back to work! Natives protesting? Get back in your reservation!
That’s all very inspiring to vote for the Liberals. (/s)
I know the Conservatives would have done the same, and then some. I know it’s still preferable to have Liberals in power, even with their despicable hypocrisy. Quite frankly I would prefer NDP policies but they are pretty marginalized on the federal level.
It’s just very difficult to find the motivation to vote for any of the candidates in my riding.
Depending on the polls for my riding I may go vote ABC. But since I’m on the Plateau (Laurier Ste-Marie) in Montréal, if anything, Steven Guilbault is going to be replaced by a Bloc or NDP candidate. There’s never been a Conservative elected in my riding since its been created in 1988. It’s the riding of Gilles Duceppe after all. I don’t know. It’s really hard to go past my apathy and cynicism since the last couple of elections.
He says it himself
an essentially worthless fish called a smelt.
Life is worthless unless you can profit out of it. If saving that species in that place would be profitable, then it would be worth it. But it’s just a worthless fish without any value. That’s what life is worth for him.
Am I too cynical to think they don’t really want to build transit infra and just make empty promises.
If any party would really want any rail project to be realized, they would announce it right after the election, not a few months before the next one.
So whatever the system we have, I am under the impression that they will find a way to just promise and never do anything about it.
Technically he announced a 5/6 years project of 3.9 billion for a study and a plan to have high speed rail. Nothing will get bought or built during that 5 year period. And I doubt anything will move faster once the study is over. Just add it to the pile.
No plans to ameliorate the current VIA Rail service in the meantime. This even kills the HFR plans that VIA proposed.
I’m so tired of those announcements. It’s frustrating. I don’t have a car now. I need to use VIA Rail now. I can’t wait for ‘Alto’ in maybe 10 or 15 years. Intercity trains, or even buses, are abysmal in Canada. If they exist at all. And it will continue to stagnate or even degrade, while the governments will just keep announcing the same big project again and again and again.
