I thought they where using commercial off the shelf generators?

Its all about pub sub relations. Being on a smaller instance in mastodon means u miss a whole bunch of activity and thus don’t have the full picture.
Lemmy and others have a community which means a community receives an activity and then that community pushes that activity to all its subscribed instances. So in lemmy u need at least 1 user from ur instance to subscribe to a community for its activity to be sent to ur instance.
On mastodon all activity by a user is sent to all instances with at least one user who follows that user. So if nobody on ur instance follows a specific user then their content will never show up on ur instance. Its a difficult problem to solve as u can’t just send all activity to all instances cos that will overload most instances. Their are relays that relay activities from its member instances to other instances but as u would expect the larger the relay the more content u must deal with on ur instance and u can get overloaded pretty quick.
The whole point of federation is to send activities only to instances that need them as not to force everyone to have the entire fediverse on their server and handle and activities from the entire fediverse (one of the reasons bluesky federation doesn’t work for small instances).
Get a notebook and pen/mechanical pencil keep both on you at all times. When u think of something u need to do/remember write it down. Check said book regularly (set alarm on ur phone if u need to) multiple times a day. At the end of a day make a list of things u want to accomplish tomorrow. Don’t worry if u don’t do everything on the list, just try do better today than u did yesterday and don’t worry if u don’t.
Drugs are very helpful (not like illegal shit) caffeine, nicotine (don’t smoke its too risky if u must find alternative sources), prescribed meds, etc. Booze, weed, video games, social media, etc are fine in moderation and a good reward for applying pavlovian conditioning to yourself but if ur not careful will suck you down a rabbit hole of depression and reliance and ruin your life.
Remove distractions and time wasting addictions (being bored is good it gives you motivation to do something productive). Delete social media set limits you cannot bypass. Feel guilty every time u break your own rules it motivates you to do something productive.
Take the little wins. Cleaned room, did dishes, got out of bed at a decent time. If ur feeling restless try walking even pacing back and forth helps. Go to bed at a regular time as much as possible. Find people who will hold you accountable that you don’t want to disappoint. Do exercise regularly.
Don’t just try one strategy then have it fail and collapse and throw it out forever. Don’t expect instant change, don’t expect to do all these things, write em down do some try do more tomorrow.
Whatever you do just remember that giving up is worse than failing. Be ready to fail repeatedly over and over and over again. Failure is expected giving up is infinity worse. Don’t beat urself up over your failures, take note of them and do better next time.
Somewhat works for me, got me through 80% of an engineering degree so far.
We all die
Year of the Linux desktop?
This is what I do its excellent.
What do u mean by identity? Trying to put everyone in an identity box is fucking dumb. Everyone has their own set of beliefs and morals these beliefs and morals fit into many different identity boxes.
Trying to make identity first is only going to drive division and conflict. I think having identity first is the greatest mistake of the current political climate.
For a stable society all that is required is everyone to play by the rules of that society under the threat of violence. That’s essentially what a nation is.
Yeah and a majority of hands you shake have touched a dick.
This sounds like a problem I’m too third party client to understand
So an organised resistance of ice (the federal government) from carrying out their duty. On a scale large enough that the local police could not maintain the laws of the nation. Is that of sufficient scale and resistance?
Not sure how u are comparing deportation to death threats? Are u advocating for literally fighting the federal government with force? Cos if so that is by definition a rebellion or at a minimum of an attempted rebellion. You do realise by saying this you have met the requirements for the president to call in the national guard without the governors approval.
“10 U.S.C. 12406,” within Title 10 of the U.S. Code on Armed Services. It allows the president to deploy federal troops in instances of “a rebellion or danger of a rebellion” against the U.S. government.
U yourself just provided evidence to support the use of federal troops.
Sure that officer should probably be fired.
None thankfully. Probably because someone called in the national guard.
So ur advocating for breaking the law if u personally think the law is immortal?
Isn’t that exactly what the jan6 insurrectionists where doing?
Or are you the arbiter of morality and everyone else immoral?
Eat your cake or have it u can’t have both.
Maybe because last time when he didn’t there was an insurrection? Maybe he learned from last time?
We are talking about la here not his other activity.
Except their actions aren’t illegal. And what does accountable mean? Cos from what I’ve seen accountable means death threats to the individual and their families.
A riot and attempted rebellion. Trump wanted the nation guard their and was blocked by the local govner.
“10 U.S.C. 12406,” within Title 10 of the U.S. Code on Armed Services. It allows the president to deploy federal troops in instances of “a rebellion or danger of a rebellion” against the U.S. government. Doesn’t need an invasion just needs danger of a rebellion. Attempting to murder federal officers and attempting to directly subvert the will of the federal government is by definition a rebellious act.
Where has the supreme court ruled that this deployment is illegal? Can u point me to it please?
As someone studying mechanical engineer I’m well aware of the process. I’m also well aware that all commercial generators must abide by environmental regulations.
