They are welcome to snoop around my small town infrastructure, which, checks notes, is hooked up by Chinese routers the last few years
There is no way I am equating using apps with nationalism. And I have yet to understand how the worst of the big business Chinese apps are worse for me than the oligarch’s here.
If anything, while both will sell my data hundreds of times, it may be safer to use the bastards that are not under the control of the collapsing government here
20 cents, take it or leave it
I think the reason I switched back was because my computer was underused - a lot of the memory was free and the fans hardly ever came on, except when gaming.
But now windows uses every bit of my ram, filled up my hard disk and the fans are humming along.
Thanks Microsoft!!
Honestly, I know this is entirely subjective, but I never liked the vibes from proton especially in the last year. I’m going to use my animal instincts and just avoid them.
That said, I really need new email service so looking at options
This is early days; I have a feeling in a few short years there will be ownership and simplicity of distributed services and whatever evolves from them.
I remember when these were heavily discussed in the 1980s; perhaps it will be ready one day.
Some tech always seems out of reach yet possible soon
Both; at the same time ( same week ). 1:10 odds
A lot of people turn off js to avoid tracking, or for performance, or they are calling the search in scripts, or they are doing illegal deals in their browser. There are dozens of reasons to do this.
I’m USA based and this will impact future protests : not just the search but all google services must be avoided in the future.
This will also break tens of thousands of scripts
Yes, not having all eggs in same basket is good
I have my domains at namecheap. No drama. Sometimes they live up to their name, would not use their hosting services.
When I use the domains elsewhere , I just enter the name server URL’s in their web gui from the 1990s.
Over the years I have heard bad stuff about them too
There are dozens of us; but I am scared to use go daddy now , not just for all the horror and cut back tech support, or for it’s shady business practices, or deceptive marketing.
But because I heard that they keep stealing valuable ip and domains
No!
I commented before reading news, relying on inaccurate half truths.
I mean, I know it will never stop until years later, if that. But for a minute or was hoping it was a little pause
Edit: Israel
this is resuming very soon ?
Wildly depressing!
I guess all the corruption and moral collapse allows me, who has absolutely no clue about law, to actually have educated guesses how important cases are voted.
I simply ask myself “how would a bad person decide?”
Debian was good enough for my grandfather and it’s good enough for me. Seriously, running cinnamon desktop in Debian is my best option.
I don’t need fancy, just no breaking
Plot twist: am grandfather myself
Bleach?
It’s a knee jerk reaction for many to want polls to still matter. Polls are important of course, but not this year and next year is uncharted territory.
The only thing to do watch now is the comfort zone of the 10,000+ people in the American billionaire families; and that is the only check in power right now
