It works on the web version, it displays on the app, they only block sending from the app for some wierd unknown reason

What doesn’t support it?
Webp is there to replace jpegs, gifs, and smaller pngs. It’s better than them in mostly everything, it took around 10 years for something slightly better to come (jxl), and it ran into the same issue, the lack of support from some big asshole company

MacOS is a great os, and it comes with solid hardware. If you use your laptop for anything except gaming, and you can pay premium, a mac is a really good choise. Also, it’s a lot easier to develop apps for iphones from macs, and that’s a thing that a lot of people do.
It is. Fuck .heic, it doesn’t compress well, it’s also slow to encode, less supported than webp, and it isn’t an open format.
