In high school I was a big Tom Clancy nerd. I played Rainbow Six games and having a book all about all the gear and training and planning was AWESOME to me

Last year I finally got around to The Hunger Games books. I liked them quite a bit and now I get the hype. When they first released the people who went crazy about Twilight recommended them so I ignored them haha

Now I’m on book two of The Expanse and I really like it. It strikes a nice balance between geeky believable world building and good storytelling.

I didn’t mind the save system so much. Take an hour nap here and there and take a save drink when you are doing something stupid. I spammed the save and quit feature a lot tbh

The combat was solid for 1v1 but the game put you in so many 1 vs many situations and switching targets on the fly was not smooth or quick enough.

Bow and arrow didn’t have that and it was so satisfying

Being absolute trash with a sword, then suddenly getting to a level that I can win a fight without a ton of luck

It already has, hurricane helene caused a ton of damage from sudden flooding. In several cases entire riverside towns disappeared.

The LA fires are tragic no question. But when a large portion the victims have the means and influence to reasonably recover (they sill have the rest of the city right there) it hits different compared to rural areas of people who are mostly forgotten in the first place.

It’s cool being there on nature’s time. It seems like it’s so slow moment by moment but like 5 minutes later the lighting is so different

Took a flight with a stop in the arctic circle. It was winter so it was in 24 hours of darkness. Made it to the states and landed for customs in the early morning. When we took off we broke through the cloud cover just in time to see my first sunrise in 36 hours
