War is a racket

@FrowingFostek - this. This is the comfort, and the wilful ignorance of what a revolution entails or aims for, and fear of losing privilege and perceived superiority, that go with it.

Fascism openly in power? People being genocided? Rounded up in to camps? Stripped of their human rights for how their were born? Deprived of their bodily autonomy? Losing entire communities to climate change? Having to exist as slave labour in a “developing” (read: colonised and pillaged) country to maintain the capitalist overconsumption machine? The widest wealth inequality ever to exist? Or even “just” - your neighbours can’t afford rent even with working 3 jobs? Have to choose to heat or eat because they can’t afford both? Die because an insurance company refused their claim? Die because the government refused their benefits claim? Get sick and die due to pollution? And on and on and on and on and on and on…

And then, the idea that everyone will have to work together for the benefit of everyone else? Building communities from the bottom up, and under the guidance and leadership of its most vulnerable, rather than its most privileged? Equity? Equality? Justice???

Fuck all that.

The liberal wants their individual privilege and comfort maintained! At whose and what cost is completely irrelevant.

I mean, you’d have to ask them, but from an anarchist perspective I would say the comfort in the familiarity of the (hierarchal, capitalist, statist, patriarchal, white supremacist, cis heteronormative, ableist) status quo which they are dedicated to upholding.

Anything material it provides is there to placate the population in to not rising up against those in power who exploit and destroy both planet and population for personal gain, and a really bad deal for at least 95% of the global population.

No, you don’t get to suddenly now distance yourself and those you serve, the threshold was crossed a long long time ago, war has always been a racket, those making and selling weapons have always been complicit in war crimes, hell, massively responsible for them since they don’t just make and sell, and advertise and test (hint: on oppressed populations) (E: and how could I forget - lobby bribe politicians and other policy makers), but most importantly profit from war. Fuck this noise.

E: I even said how I can see it being useful in some applications, but fuck, if I’m looking at the date it’s almost certainly to see what day it is today, what day (and maybe month) an appointment is, what day some food is going off, stuff like that. I know what month and year it is right now, and if I want to know the time, I look at a clock, not a calendar. If they love extra and often unnecessary information so much they’re free to use whatever format they want, but I’m good, and so are many others, and they just need to learn to be ok with that lmao

So it’s just adding the American format (which categorically does not demonstrate how a month and day can still be conveyed in order of significance, but literally the opposite) in to the mix and not providing any help or making things any simpler lol

Maybe in programming or technical documentation, but no, when I check the date I want to know the day and the month, beyond that, it’s all unnecessary information for everyday use, and we have it right in Europe.

Lmfao, you seriously underestimate the cognitive dissonance it takes to function at that level. If anything, he’s probably even more convinced that he is the saviour of humanity than some random business owner.

The rich love convincing themselves (and the general population) that the working class and therefore society at large depends entirely on them and on their gracious “job creating” generosity to not only survive, but exist.

In reality it is the exact opposite that is true - without the workers to exploit, they are nothing, and if the workers of the world unite, we can get rid of them, and their oppressive systems, for good.

Imagine the shock and awe they would experience when that finally happens.
