My tolerance of noise and light pollution has gone way the hell down as I have gotten older. I want to live in the woods at this point.
Fedora Silverblue was VERY easy to install. I opted to go the GNOME route but its been great so far as a former windows user. I rebased from Fedora to Bazzite and it was dead simple. Been on Bazzite for a couple months now and have had no major issues. Figuring out my printer drivers was a bit tedious but it worked the first time once I got the process figured out.
Yeah, I get that. Standard operating procedure for something as valuable as an aircraft carrier should still be to schedule transit so that it can sit in a position protected by escorts until it is it’s turn to go.
Realistically, the carrier should probably have half it’s escorts go first and form a protective envelope on the destination side before it enters, then the remaining escorts follow providing rear cover.
A ship getting there by accident means someone also could have done it on purpose without the crew knowing it was an attack (this time)
Its sloppy at best, neglegent at worst and not a good look either way.
How/why was a merchant ship allowed to be anywhere near an aircraft carrier? Did the US learn nothing from the USS Cole?
Lowest score so far…
Laws that protect but do not bind, and laws that bind but do not protect.
No doubt, and I know the cost is distributed across the entire pool. I just mention it as a reference point.
Our neighborhood is older homes on higher elevation vs a significant percentage of newer developments that are in the flood plain (since that is the remaining land around here) Realistically, the insurance companies and developers share some blame in this because if you don’t build houses in the higher risk areas, you are less likely to have to pay out significant claims on something. But, money upfront is all these people are going for.
I can tell you our homeowners insurance went up by $120/month near Houston. Never flooded, never froze, never had wind damage, never had a claim. Our house is under 2000sqft and inland.
The ending was fantastic but I cried for probably an hour. It hit me really hard with where I was/am with my life and loved ones. I absolutely recommend it to everyone.
The exception to that is one I read about a few years back about a carrier based pilot. Callsign was S T A B which stood for shit twice and bailed
