Why do we continue to pretend that India is an ally? Nothing against the people that come here from there of course, but we sure as hell have a weirdly comfortable relationship with a country that has no issues in assassinating people on our soil.
Joe Rogan Experience in a nutshell:
Guest: batshit insane shit
Rogan: uh huh, oh wow, that’s crazy, never thought of it like that
Rogan: also like, here’s my thoughts bro (insert popular opinion here)
Guest: continues batshit insane shit that contradicts that expressed opinion
Rogan: I totally agree.
The country of freedom sure does a lot to prevent the free expression of others.
Why is it that the only freedom they ever seem to focus on is the freedom to isolate and not the freedom to participate?
“People are free to make their own comments, I speak for myself”
Yeah, kinda speaking for yourself a lot in not denouncing those comments.
Populist.
35%.
Choose one lol, what a joke.
They’re still an American citizen. Nowhere in the article is it mentioned if they voted in the U.S. election.
If they didn’t vote, then I’m sorry to say, they’re a coward. Moving up here and then refusing to do your civic duty as an American citizen to keep this guy out of office to the best of your ability as someone abroad would make me furious if they’re sticking around here, so I’m really hoping that that isn’t the case.
God if I had the funds to head up to the legislature I would be protesting this shit endlessly.
My MLA is with the NDP, so clearly against this, but I should probably find the nearest UCP office and put up signage or whatnot.
What a fucking idiot. Gets fuck all after the visits to Mar-a-Lago and talks with Trump about Alberta oil, and then decides that she wants to cuck herself to deals within Canada by asking those same people who gave her diddly squat to interfere with the election as if they didn’t just backstab her for the effort she put in to appease them.
Cause simply wearing a hijab is so much worse than…

Nope.
Nope nope nope nope nope.
I’m sorry, the entire idea of “vote splitting” just encourages people to move their vote from the candidate that aligns most with their values to the candidate who’s already got the most backing. You’re essentially robbing support from the smaller parties and consolidating it with the big ones, further exacerbating the problem by creating an environment where it’s one person or the other. This is how the Americans ended up with a two-party system and how they stubbornly will do anything as a means to do nothing about their problem.
Vote with who aligns with your opinions most, regardless of if it’s “strategic” or not. For me, it happens to be the Liberals I’m voting for because I’m tired of how weak the NDP and Green leadership is, but beforehand I voted for the NDP candidate here in heavily Conservative Alberta even when the Liberal would have been “more viable” with my vote.
It is up to the federal parties to win you over with their vote, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND and “strategic voting” only creates a system where your candidates will start feeling entitled to your vote regardless of if they listen to what you want as a voter simply because you “have no other option this side of the aisle” and that “the other guy is worse”.
Amarjeet is such a fucking incredible guy. Look up dude’s story, it is insane. Man has gone through so much and still fights the good fight after all these years.
My mother would take the bus to work and back and remembers him being a bus driver with ETS. Great guy with great character.
Here’s the page on the Diabetes Canada site: https://www.diabetes.ca/nutrition-fitness/recipes/pear-rhubarb-breakfast-crisp-(1) (the URL doesn’t match what the recipe is for, not sure why)
I substitute the lemon juice with malt vinegar as stated. Found malt vinegar works better than lemon juice personally since when I first started making hummus, I used that instead since I didn’t have lemon juice off hand and just grabbed something acidic, and lemon juice didn’t provide as bold a flavour.
I also use jarred garlic instead and play it by eye since I really like garlic and the jarred stuff is more convenient for me.
Lastly for the spices I ditch the black pepper in favour of paprika, and use 3/4 teaspoons of salt rather than 1/2.
One of the things I remember most from my childhood is my father screaming in pain due to tooth decay he couldn’t get treatment for because of how expensive a trip to the dentist was. Man would try using whiskey as an antiseptic which did fuck all and ended up costing us more for his alcohol as a family when that became his drink of choice afterwards over beer.
The NDP is in dire need of new leadership. I genuinely think Jagmeet is a great guy, but he really should be making a publicity campaign of the NDP’s accomplishments here, and him not doing so to the degree he should be is just the latest in a line of leadership decisions he’s made that have disappointed me. I want to vote NDP in the upcoming election, but even putting aside the movement to back the Liberals to keep Polievre out of office, I’ll be voting Liberal unless they have a change in leadership and leadership strategy.
Gonna go so far as to say the same with the Greens while I’m at it cause the entire kerfuffle they’ve had with Annamie Paul basically fracturing the party, and seeing Elizabeth May as their leader again isn’t doing any favours considering how hard she and other party leadership pushed for Paul over Dimitri Lascaris, who I feel would have been a much better party leader.
Real Canadian Superstore prices for my hummus since this started:
Swapping from Peru-made lemon juice for my hummus to malt vinegar - cost down from $2.79 to $1.50
No Name Chickpeas to Unico equivalent - $1.50 to $2
Using canola oil and not olive oil as suggested by nearly every recipe - no name olive oil costs $12 for 750 mL whereas canola oil costs $8.29 for 3 L getting you more for less with hardly a change in the recipe
Tahini - found a good recipe from Diabetes Canada that completely removes this ingredient, saving me a solid $10 for a jar
To finish things off, while both Canadian, swapping from sandwich bread to sliced French bread for dipping - $1.97 to $1.25
Cost of hummus ingredients goes from $28.26 to $13.04 with the added bonus that one of those ingredients lasts three times as long.
People need to learn substitutions in their recipes, that alone saved a tonne. I pay more for Canola oil personally cause I get Canola Harvest and not the no name brand since they’re unionized, but even with that in mind you’re paying less than olive oil for like, double the amount.
Too bad it wasn’t the man himself.
oww noooo, am I bewing bigowted to da pow widdle amewican?
Don’t you have some Bill Maher anti-woke compilation to watch? Not responding further.
Missing the point entirely, typical American.
Take a look in the mirror, you literally commented on a post mocking pro-Palestine protestors for not voting for the Democrats and voting for Stein when, as always, it’s up to the parties to bring in the voters and not feel entitled to votes because “oh but that person is worse bro!”
But I wouldn’t expect an American to know how the right to vote how you want works. Democrats failed in not listening to their base and instead listened to monied interests from Israel, and therefore lost votes from people who dared to think that bombing innocent civilians and toddlers was bad.
Never been on a vacation abroad, but this has really been making me think about how I should probably make a trip to St. John’s for a vacation.
