My field has a shortage but it’s also hell on earth to train into. Okay money if you can pass the boards after years of suffering through the training.

How else are they going to sell young women on the idea of motherhood, if not for covering up reality with these flowery platitudes? All these people completely evaporate the minute anything other than perfect comes out. The minute anything goes wrong. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt.

I think if they had good judgement, they wouldn’t be trump voters.

Additionally many of them have a “take it on faith” behavior, because that’s been drilled into them by their churches and communities for decades. Thinking critically would have been punished. It’s hard behavior to unlearn. People were denying covid with their death rattles from covid.

Yeah I think you’re right. If I didn’t have the responsibilities I do, renting a smaller place until expiring would probably be my route.

I admit it. I couldn’t never pay the rent on my own. When I was younger I essentially stayed with whoever picked me. My marriage went on way too long because I needed to finish college/fieldwork or be stuck with a man who hated me and had someone ten years younger he’d gotten pregnant at college…funny that none of us could actually afford to leave each other until I graduated and got out of their way. Because of environment and poor decisions, I put myself and the kids through unforgivable stress. I’m in my thirties now, the kids are almost grown, and I make great money. But I’m an empty person. I’ll give them what I never had though, so they won’t be in relationships to pay their bills. I’m pretty sure one will be an engineer.

Right? The same chain of “jokes” as top level comments. Thousands of thousand of comments that were very off topic or incredibly shallow perspectives. Copy/pasted comments up and down the chains. Then there were the obvious advertising disguised as post/conversations. Ick. I still maintain my account for the local/state subreddit and metalcore subreddit and that is it.

Not the vibe I’ve gotten. I do get that vibe over on Reddit. I think the quirky conversations and novel responses make me lean away from bot. However I’m not an expert.

It’s your job as a parent to teach your kiddos these sorts of things. It might feel uncomfortable, but it is part of the deal. It’s your job to teach him all of these personal hygiene issues. I taught both of my children (boy, girl) these things. For some general info I had to do a lot of research on boy things, as I don’t have those parts. But I did it and we’re fine. This doesn’t just apply to hygiene but all those life skills we aren’t just born with.

We uh…read books. And spread misinformation among ourselves. Good times.
