Tehran launched fresh missiles strikes against Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed further strikes on Iran in a military operation that has targeted the nuclear and military facilities of his country’s arch enemy.

Shortly after midnight on June 14, Israel said its military had intercepted a new round of Iranian surface-to-surface missiles in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem on the second consecutive day of Iranian air strikes that followed a damaging Israeli air assault on sites linked to Tehran’s nuclear program.

Unfortunately, I think this is what it might take for the people of Israel to do something about their government. Iran has enough force to scare civilians into making an effort to back out of war.

The entire premise behind Israel as a project state is the marketing that they are doing “the right thing.” It has nothing to do with the Jewish faith. It has everything to do with zionism, genocide, and profit.

They know they are the bad guys here. They don’t care.

There are very few conflicts where you can paint the governments involved as black and white “good guys/bad guys”. In the Iran / Israel arena I’d like to see both governments fall.

Iran I’d like to see return to being a much more secular state, and Israel… Well they’ve got some very deep rot to expunge. 70+ years of “Lebensraum” type entitled-expansion. I don’t know how you get that out of the culture.

You have to remember that the citizens of a country aren’t always the same as the leadership of the country.

correct! i absolutely remember that. which means sometimes when I say “Israel” people think I mean working class folks trying to get by. However those folks are not zionists. Zionists do not count as “folks” in this formula.

I’m not saying they’re gonna a have a moral breakthrough. I’m saying they’re not gonna want to engage in a war that means a lot of their people are dying. War on Palestine is easy. War against Iran is not.

Lol it won’t because this is literally nothing. They’ve been through much worse and Iran default response for the past few years has been to launch a bunch of blank rockets that run on Imam farts and then claim that they made Tel Aviv burn in “hell fire”.

These attacks are a signal from Iran that they don’t want a war with Israel and that this is the furthest they’ll go. They did the same thing when Haniyeh was killed in Tehran.

I’m not saying this one attack is what it takes. Continued attacks will lead to peace talks, which is what happens all the time.

They will, but if they were to return to the status quo it’ll be through weaker and weaker retaliation attacks. The ol’ deescalation through escalation that we’ve seen them do many times in the past.

The British turned entire cities into flame tornados during ww2, and it galvanised the Germans rather than deter them.

Sorry, you’re right. The point I was trying to clumsily make is that It didn’t have the effect that the RAF were aiming for. Which was to break morale and more importantly, stem the civilian population production of war. If anything, production increased, despite the terror.

I’m incredibly ignorant on WW2, and in general knowledge, being a nerd and all, my brain is full of Linux. However I have recently been watching the World War in Color series. I’ve been watching several other similar series and I’m totally hooked now.

The run-up to WW2 and current US affairs look strikingly similar. I look at the TV, then my phone, then back at the TV and “it’s the same picture”.

They might believe that but depending on how hard Iran fires back they might not want to mess up their relatively cushy lifestyles.

The official Israeli reason for this is because of ‘iranian’ drones being sent towards Israeli territory (released from Iraq rather than Iran) so they have manufactured a casus belli, and Iran clearly didn’t expect this attack since they were actually cooperating more than the past before the attacks

as the attack happened tons of flight flew to Cyprus. I have a feeling the entire government is in the UK base there, while the “citizen” have to deal with backlash.
