I am a paramedic for more than 2 decades now,but work in an office most days now.
I have cared for (and in 2 cases declared death on scene) more people than I have fingers who fell off these. Besides two, neither of them was responsible for the fall.
2 cases of a hydraulic rupture (which leads to the platform going down fast and uneven. The harness is also meant to keep you close to the platform so you don’t fall in between the elements.)
1 being raised stupidly,pushing a load onto their coworker(that was DOA)
1 fall due to being hit by a coworker with a part (DOA after 7m faceplant)
And a fair share of units being hit by forklifts, trucks or similar things.
… OSHA rules are written in blood. And often the victims are not the ones who caused it.
