Description: The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed follows buddy cops Vladimir Sharapov (Vladimir Konkin), recently returned from the Eastern Front, and anti-banditry department captain Gleb Zheglov (Vladimir Vysotsky), in a police investigation into the “Black Cat” gang in post-war Moscow. Created by Odessa Film Studios, with scriptwriters Arkady and Georgy Vayner adapting their own novel The Era of Mercy, which was in turn based on real events that took place in the early 1950s.

Trivia: The Lyube song “Atas!” is based on this series. That song is in fact how I first heard about this series. Supposedly a lot of lines from this series are still widely quoted by Russophones to this day.
