Their job is to work within the set of laws we have set up for them. Their job is not to protest, rebel, engage in civil disobedience, etc.; that’s our job. I’m tired of this sentiment that, by being an elected public official in a democratic system, we should also expect them to be martyrs for that system. That is a form of slacktivism. Cut it out.
