For those who don’t want to follow the existing 196 community move, some community members have made an alternative community on blahaj.zone
I am not directly involved in the new community, but I’m happy to share it for those looking for a blahaj based alternative.
Is there a reason we can’t just add a new mod team to the old 196?
I suppose that may feel a little “takeover”y by its them that decided to move.
Ada prefers not to jump in, to avoid power tripping. That’s respectable, but in the meantime we are working on [email protected]
That’s not powertripping, that’s stepping in for the good of the community. This community would benefit to stay in [email protected] and if @[email protected] removes them and reappoints someone else who shares the same passion for this community that isn’t powetripping, it’s doing the right thing.

Agreed. It’s what would be best for us. Not moving to another community with a horrendous name, but staying here while they are removed and move on to lemmy.world.
Yeah entirely agree. I don’t get why the current mods can’t simply be removed since they don’t intend to maintain the sub? Sublemmys can’t really move, you can just create a new one elsewhere as everyone is welcome to do, but by definition it can’t be the “same community”
