House Republicans have unveiled the cost-saving centerpiece of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” at least $880 billion in cuts largely to Medicaid to help cover the cost of $4.5 trillion in tax breaks.

Tallying hundreds of pages, the legislation revealed late Sunday is touching off the biggest political fight over health care since Republicans tried but failed to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, during Trump’s first term in 2017.

While Republicans insist they are simply rooting out “waste, fraud and abuse” to generate savings with new work and eligibility requirements, Democrats warn that millions of Americans will lose coverage. A preliminary estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the proposals would reduce the number of people with health care by 8.6 million over the decade.

Republicans are the enemy of anyone outside of the billionaire class. They have persisted by duping the dumbest and least discerning for decades, aided by the machinery of religion, which inherently removes the ability to parse facts from fiction.

Republicans are a threat to America.

Anyone know how this will actually cost America? (I know Medicare & Medicaid are basically the lifeblood of every medical institution…)

Guys! You’re totally missing the point here! Trump’s getting a $400 million dollar plane, so it’s absolutely worth it when some stupid poor people lose their jobs and others get sicker and/or die because their medicaid’s been cut! He really needs all that money to refit the whole thing, so I’m totally alright with losing my job so he can fly style… Make America great again!!!

It really doesn’t matter when the number is that large and its the ethics of accepting such a valuable gift anyway. My main concern other than ethics is that it’s going to cost taxpayers a significant amount more to retrofit the plane with defense systems, communications, and redundancies than to just build it that way from scratch. Plus they’ll need to verify security of electrical components and systems as well. All of that will be done on our dime since it will be the Air Force performing all of that.

“I knew it,” snarled the frog, as they both thrashed and drowned. “A scorpion cannot change its nature.”
