I recently made the post above.

Overall the responses were insightful, and I had a joy responding to some comments. ✨

I ended up choosing the comment that made most sense, and included an edit explaining to guys what I think would have been best in that situation if they were the ones walking by.

But after I added those edits in, it seems to have ruffled the feathers of some men, whom took it upon themselves to insult me and or throw shade upon me for my conclusions.

I did get the insight I wished for, and better understand the situation that occured. But I didn’t want to also have dirt in my mouth after eating my meal.

I wish that in times like this there was a way for me to mute threads etc. 😞

Vent over, meow meow meow.

I didn’t know .ml was left-communist (the ML I thought stood for Marxist-Leninist, which is certainly not left-communist).

I thought they leaned authoritarian, more “tankie” (e.g. defending Russia and North Korea) rather than anti-authoritarian. 🤔

My experience with .ml folks has certainly been that they are of that aggressive authoritarian strain. As I understand it, of the ml Lemmy devs even suggested the bourgeoisie are pushing a pro-trans (and LGBT+) agenda and thus it’s unlikely they would be anti-trans.

Not that I enjoy inviting the wrath of ml users on me or mentioning Lemmy in-fighting in the first place, just that this is the first time I’ve heard they’re left-communist.
