His “make America great again” stance is really only accomplishing “make everyone else but America great again.” No matter which way America goes, whether its full fascism or a better democracy, within the next 5-10 years someone else is going to take America’s role economically and politically on a global scale. Saint Patrick’s Battalion. The US Army recruited a lot of Irish immigrants as soon as they came off the ships. Many of the Irish were veterans of the British Army and experience was a great asset. When they got to Mexico, they realized they were being asked to fight fellow Catholics for their Protestant generals. Enough deserted and went over to the Mexican side that they were given their own unit.
