“The real problem is not like the crazy guy that firebombs a Tesla dealership, it’s the people pushing the propaganda that cause that guy to do it,” he continued.

“The president has made it clear, we are going to go after them. The ones providing the money. The ones pushing the lies and propaganda, we’re going after them,” Musk claimed. “I think there’s some real evil out there. We have to overcome it.”

This statement means that U.S. Citizens no longer have Constitutional rights.

“The president has made it clear, we are going to go after them. The ones providing the money. The ones pushing the lies and propaganda, we’re going after them,” Musk claimed

    His self-description is really perfect.

He even includes the “money” aspect, which people who hate Tesla because of Elon really aren’t interested in.

If someone wants to pay me to burn some cars, safely, with no harm to people…they can hit me up.

“I think there’s some real evil out there. We have to overcome it.”

The irony is gushing off of this one.

The ones pushing the lies and propaganda, we’re going after them

While lies are tortuously liable (grounds for civil recovery rather than a crime), criminally punishing propaganda and speech would be a textbook violation of the First Amendment.

*Edit: I thought money was speech

People do it because they hate Elon’s nazi propaganda, so the government should deal with him to fix the issue.

I think that people firebombing Tesla dealerships is genuinely hilarious and awesome. The only bad thing about it is when they don’t take sufficient precautions and then end up arrested. Anyone doing such a thing should definitely make sure to leave their phone at home, and make sure they aren’t identifiable on camera either at the scene or traveling to/from it.

Nah, there’s people with heart that just lack awareness of the extent of the modern surveillance state.

I’m pretty sure 1984 is a banned book. So most people aren’t aware of how to doublethink and to the extent big brother has control over communication devices.

Well, how about the fact that if you don’t have your phone on you, they can also track that, and in a world where everyone has a phone, it’s arguably stranger not to have one. A burner that’s not linked to you just to have at the time, and toss later, might be a better option. However, I’m sure that’s not great either. Big brother is always watching.

How would they track if you don’t have your phone on you? They can track the phone location and its use. Putting your phone down while you take a nap, or losing it in your couch look the same as leaving it at home.

Beyond that, suspecting that you left your phone at home isn’t evidence of anything. Try yo stay off the radar if you can, but at least don’t build a case against yourself.

I may be misremembering entirely, but essentially, combined with all the other surveillance out there, if you say, go to a protest, and you and a few other people are going without a cell phone, not having that electronic signal is also a “red flag” or can be, and they’ll monitor you closer through other measures, when possible. However, I’ve gone looking for where a read/saw this, and cannot find anything. So there’s a non zero chance this is a fever dream.

I see what you’re saying, but I maintain that any such risk is outweighed by the risk of bringing your phone.
