So the core is very much video poker, in that you make poker hands and score points. The twist is that you can dramatically modify your deck as the run goes on. It’s kind of hard to describe, but things like my king is now worth 50 points, multiplies my score by 5, and I’ve cloned it enough to make fictional hands like flush house, or five of a kind.

Jokers have unique effects that can modify the deck, give additional score, change the rules of the game, that kind of thing.

It’s quite fun and challenging, I highly recommend it.

That’s from disco elysium. It’s a fantastic game, you should play it. Don’t give the studio any money though, they forced out the original devs and are sitting on the IP that they didn’t create. It’s kind of fucked.

Seconding this. Anecdotally from my last job in support, every drive failure we had was a Seagate. WDs and samsungs never seemed to have an issue.

I’m sure this is real, but I see a headline like that and I think of schoolyard talk. Like, nuh uh, my armour has 100 trillion bonds, you can’t shoot me.

Windows feels like a bit of a sinking ship. Not entirely, and it’s slow, but the feeling is present and consistent. I don’t want to keep having to rip apart the OS to remove shit they shoved onto my hardware without my consent. I just want an easyish experience that I can do my shit on, and they aren’t really interested in that it feels.

In comparison to that, alternatives like steam os sounds great to your average user.

I played it at launch. Even through all the bugs and half finished systems, it felt like somebody actually cared about the game. The story, characters and city were and still are amazing. Bit of an unpopular opinion, but it was always a pretty good game, at the very least an uncut diamond.
