Glad to see the French still understand the point of direct action when it comes to protest.
They won’t listen to our words, so we make them hear our actions.
The French is so hardcore, love it.
The French always have the balls. During the yellow jacket protests couple of years back, electric company workers gave away free electricity as part of protest.
Governments in any nation - France deefinitely not excluded - are self-serving and following the wishes of the rich, but the common French people have always had balls!
Viva la France!
go team France!
Workers taking action, love to see it.
Hell fucking yeah French dock workers.
Thank god for the french
This is the power of the organized working class. Nothing happens with out us.
I mean, the working class is going far-right most of the time these days, so I’m not sure that’s how I’d frame it.
Only because of de-industrialisation that began since the 1970s and 1980s without offering alternatives. There is a reason for the rhetoric that “the working class have been abandoned” exists.
Sure, but it’s happening, and the old labour-left is pretty much dead.
The old labour became a victim of its own success. As wealth increased, they have had to court the growing, largely moderate middle class in the past thirty years. Although now that the middle class is shrinking but wealth inequality widens, it is time for the left to return to its working class roots.
yeah, I have never in my life met a trade worker that wasn’t some frothing right-wing sterotype. Maybe i’m unlucky, but the era of socialist workers looks over to me
Disagree. UAW’s high profile cases are a good example of effectively run established old-style unions getting big wins, and unionization is occurring at high rates compared to the historical mean of the past fifty years worldwide, even in the face of total hostility from government and the owner class.
Many unions are currently in a place where they need to hand over the reigns from an older generation that got way too comfortable with cost of living adjustments and cosy relationships with management to a new generation who have been directly blocked from power most of their working lives by that older generation.
Things are going to get much spicier, just watch.
The RMTU in Britain has also been phenomenonal. Their leaders are natural public speakers and could easily shut down criticisms and biases from the media trying to grill them and their strikes.
I’m the only leftist I know.
Im still always amazed how they feel the need to mention the Oct 7 attack but not the constant oppression, attacks and killings by the IDF that led to that attack.
Yeah yeah, they were treated like cockroaches for 60 years, but WhAt AbOuT OcToBeR 7tH???
Hamas would never have been a problem if humans were treated as humans from the start.
It gets even funnier when you know the details of that history, especially how Israel directly funded and supported the rise of Hamas as the dominant faction to suppress the growing support of the PLO.
They literally created their own enemy and got all [shocked_pikachu.jpeg] when their whipping dog decided to finally bite back.
Zionists do love their cherrypicking. The actual big picture is devastating for them, you see.
It’s like Iraq and Afghanistan had war crimes but remember 9/11!!!1!
or the fact that they have been doing it for the past 80years,
The news site is reposting an Article written by Agence France Presse which the French government owns 20% of. (And majorly subsidised). The French government like most western governments is pro-Israel biased. So I’m not too suprised by the slanted reporting.
(Yes of course the AFP claims “editorial independence”, but is any news site “independent” when the funder has the power to cut the money if it says something the funder doesn’t like).

I think that when the funder is the State, laws make that a bit more difficult than when it’s completely private. Although it doesn’t completely solve that problem ofc.
Isn’t France about to recognise the Palestinian state? And isn’t there a current crisis between France and Israel over what is happening with strong words from Macron to qualify what Israel is doing?
Macron ain’t saying shit he opened his mouth a bit and now he start every phrase with ‘Israel right to defense and pls kill children in a less obviously bad way’
Dockworkers are now officially “the elite” according to the media. Congrats! Welcome!
Dude. I bet they have a retirement pension. I bet they get paid sick leave and time off when their child is born. Fucking elite assholes. Unions are the real parasites on the working class.
Do they not think about the rights of the Israeli working class? It’s an Israelis right to wake up every morning and know that at least 10 children in Gaza were killed while they slept. Palestinian babies are the real elites actually.
are you hamas sympathizer?? why are you using plestinin??? amalek babies forced israeli to attack provocally
As an American it’s hard to imagine blue collar workers that oppose Israel.
American blue collar workers don’t have class consciousness. They vote against their own interests, eat processed food, and watch football. They’re cheering on their billionaire bosses while they get poorer and their pocket gets picked by those same bosses.
You know, European leftists integrate themselves into football culture
I know the differences in how European and American sporting is organized factor in here, but seriously I don’t think “everything you like is bad actually” is a winning position
When you put the issues on the table without the attached political narratives, they’re for the same policies we are, a lot of times for the same reasons.
We are a very stupid country
as an American it’s hard to imagine blue collar workers taking any amount of coherent action, the boss has surveillance on them 24/7 and if they step out of line they’ll lose the meds that keep their kids alive or they’ll be disappeared to el salvador
Americans have been made too individualist for collective action I guess
This is why unions are absolutely crucial
fucking hell, when you put it like that…
As an American, it’s pretty fucking aggravating watching blue collar workers vote against their (and everyone else’s, save for rich people’s) interests in a statistically-significant fashion.
Yeah good on their leader to support them. There are unions though. The important thing here is they’re seemingly refusing collectively. Just a few people refusing probably wouldn’t be as successful.
Nice
No, it’s near Marseille.
Wakka wakka!
Way to go.
