Why wouldn’t they? The party doesn’t appear to support democratic values anyway. Why should they care what voters want?

Utah passed a law preventing public sector unions from collective bargaining. We collected enough signatures opposing to get an item on the ballot in 2026. The fight definitely isn’t over but I’m proud that we’re successfully fighting back in a state as red as this.

Michigan isn’t on this list. We have 10 days early voting, absentee voting, and an independent redistricting committee. All due to ballot initiatives. Reps took control in January, and the first thing they did was file a lawsuit against all of those. They say the ballot initiatives are unconstitutional because state legislatures have sole responsibility for voting regulations.

The issue is that americans vote on identity. They don’t vote about policies.

Look at Arkansas. A nuclear engineer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) came up a solid plan to improve Arkansas. He visited all 75 counties. He lost by double digits against Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She barely campaigned.

The issue is that many americans simply vote on identity. They don’t vote about policies.

Sure, they might agree with individual policies. But when it comes to voting for candidates, (most) americans ultimately vote based on their perceived identity.
