What’s with the sudden uptick of Israel bad, distance from them that I’m seeing lately? Socked it didn’t happen earlier in all honesty…but what’s causing this all to happen now?

The influence of the USA is waning among traditional allies. Now there’s even less of a reason to support Israel. They were only doing it to stay on America’s good side.

It’s been about 3/4 of a year since I have stopped hearing excuses about how the life-supporting infrastructure, facilities and children Israel is attacking is somehow Hamas.

Now in the last couple months, Israel seems to have dropped most pretenses and are clearly stating plans to annex Gaza and kill its former inhabitants en masse. Ceasefires have been proposed, agreed to mutually then broken by Israel. Those facts have finally percolated to our institutions which is why I think you are seeing more negative action.

Articulable hunch: politicians have seen the USA exposed for their complicity, fear their own will be.

Probably Trump. His alienation of America’s closest allies means they don’t have a reason to support Israel anymore, because let’s face it nobody but America ever had a horse in that race. It’s on my very short list of good things Trump did.

      News travels slow?

We’re in a bubble here largely of people who are prone to a hyper awareness of such things.

Maybe it’s finally bubbling up the surface?

Countries didnt wanna get on the bad side of the USA before, but now everyone is trying to be cut them off as much as possible anyways. Basically they were scared of US sanctions and now they are not.
