I say “FIloniverse” because TCW and it’s spinoffs have kind of just become their independent thing. Honestly I wish they would go all the way and start contradicting the movies outright instead of trying to make everything fit together. That was never going to happen.
Andor has made think that this whole jedi sith stuff was a mistake and should be scrapped or at least rewritten from scratch.
Well they could definitely stand to give it a rest for a year or two.
I really hope they don’t go in to explain Luthen’s backstory too much in season 2/try to make him a Jedi of some kind. He’s more interesting if they leave it ambiguous, and just make it clear that he’s Cassian’s “Obi-Wan” figure (i.e. the person who brought him into this conflict).
I have a bad feeling they are going to go full lib and ruin the show. It is not based on anything substantial. The first season was perfect but it seems like at some point god ordained that we may not have good things. Happy to be proven wrong though. But I feel they may be consored, either from within or without, because of the israeli genocide.
I have my expectations set super low for S2, too. They’ve been talking big about how Gilroy and team have full creative freedom, but at the end of the day the mouse is cutting the check lol.

It’s super frustrating seeing all the post RotJ stuff on the timeline slowly working towards stitching Rise of Skywalker in.
Like you said, there’s definitely space for Alternate Universe/ Alternate Continuity stuff, but they seem dead set on having one true timeline - even if that gets in the way of interesting storytelling.
