Yeah there have been many times already where it’s been “they have to get that he’s scamming them now, right?”

But they always go back and say “please sir, can we have some more?”

They’re already trying to work out that it’s all Pam Bondi’s fault. Trump is just getting bad advice, etc.

Even the most “shocked” right-wing pundits who were screaming “COVER UP!” during the first few hours have now pivoted to “If there are secrets in there that could destroy corporations, we HAVE to trust daddy and protect the identities of the child rapists. We may not like it but preserving economic stability is more important than the lives of children.”

Not even kidding on this one.

It’s already over, the dust just hasn’t fully settled as a large segment of the population is now being told all the moral outrage over “pedophilia” was just for when other people do it. If you’re a big businessman or political leader, well that’s just the cost of preserving the system that treats us all so well.

The party of morals, christianity, small government and individual rights everyone.

    No he doesn’t.

He’s kinda up against the foundational myth of Q-Anon here, so there’s a chunk of true believers who are extremely vocal about this.

But the vast majority of the people that voted for him are conservative hypocrites to whom this was never more than another narrative, strategically leveraged to claim moral superiority and attack the enemy, in order to distract from their crimes and abuses.

      Funny, but no.

We are trapped in our own cultivated echo-chambers. You are a victim of the same cognitive control mechanisms as the right if you think there is at all a large enough wave of regret and “realization” going through the general conservative or even median voting population to effectively produce change.

This is still not enough. If you want to understand why, spend a day watching FOX or even CNN or MSNBC. Right-wing news is already moving onto other bullshit topics like trade and trans athletes and immigration successes. The other networks are using this latest drama to squeeze the last traces of pus from the emotional pimple from a population that wants to read a feel-good, satisfying “We got 'em!” story so they can get back to their comfortable lives.

The only way this will turn into anything with actual political action is if enough people actively serving in politics right now organize and use this to affect actual political decisions. Investigations, evidence, articles and coalitions. We were led to believe that the Democratic establishment was supposed to be doing this, as there really isn’t any other sizeable organization working in politics who can, but the sad truth is that most dems are just working as cover for the fact that the entire establishment, republican and democrat, has been bought or is actively being attacked and dragged out of the picture for not being bought. (See: Mamdani)

You want this to mean something? Go get involved in your local political groups and work on getting rid of the foundation of this pyramid of slime that supports our congress and senate.

Couldn’t agree more. The things I see online are completely different from what I see in real life.

In real life, the vast majority of people aren’t paying attention to any of this drama at all. They have no idea what’s going on. (And if they do, they surely aren’t talking about it.) The Republican party is going to be fine, thanks to apathy.

Yeah, and this is especially so in the important voting bloc of white middle class people --the ones who probably own their home (with mortgage obviously) and are still making ends meet. The good ones are horrified to see what’s going on in the world, and the troubled ones may still think they are temporarily embarrassed millionaires with the whole master race thing going for them, but other than inflation their day to day life has not changed.

I’m a white dude living in the swing state of Pennsyltucky, in a very white republican suburb a good distance from the city. My town is growing and some good companies have large offices here (access to infrastructure plus the tax benefit of being in the next county over), so it’s attracted residents from just about every ethnic background. But to get an accurate mental image, you have to sprinkle that diverse mix over a base layer of 80% white people, lol.

Just mentally going through our family, close friends, social acquaintances, and various local parents we run into (I have a kid in elementary school, and we’re active in the school district), it is almost all white families living in single-family homes or sometimes townhouses. Many are two-income families, some are one-income families (working professionals in a reasonable COL area, not exactly CEOs). I know everybody has their own problems including the ones they don’t share with me, but for most of these people life just looks normal. If you followed me around all day and could not see the awful news on the screen when I sat down at my PC, you would be hard pressed to tell which decade we are in. You would need a clue like peeking at my phone model or seeing an old covid mask on a shelf.

There ARE exceptions. People who are not white have absolutely been fucked with by ICE. Thank goodness the best Mexican restaurant in town got raided so that my fellow whites aren’t tempted by amazing food from non-white sources. And I do know of one white family where both parents are civilians that work for the government. Both remotely, before Trump 2. They are amazing people raising three great kids (the kindest people we know are usually single child) and they got all kinds of unnecessary stress and fuckery in their real lives thanks to all the chaos and ill considered return-to-office mandates.

None of them were in any position at that point to “help the case” so SHOW US THE DAMN CLIENT LIST where Drumpf was named (we have all seen the pics of him and Epstein together so stop denying it! So why the fuck is this helmet haired douche trying to blame Hilary, Obama, and Biden?!?

Because he’s never accepted responsibility for anything he’s ever done in his entire life?

Because deflecting the blame to others is his go to move when called out?

Because a large number of his base will believe that his deflections are true?

Because he is a spineless, gutless, nutless, mushroom-dicked, pedophile asshole, and blaming others for his failings is the only thing he can do short of owning it?

      All of the above?

      Edit:

“Why are we giving publicity to Files written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden administration.” -Trump

So that if the files somehow get leaked, he’s already “discredited” them. I guess the FBI took a nap during his first term in office, which isn’t suspicious in any way whatsoever.

“I think that these people — and I don’t know, for whatever reason, there could be reasons — but I don’t think they’re telling us the truth about Epstein,” podcaster Brandon Tatum told the assembled crowd at the Tampa Convention Center.

The reason is that the Glorious Leader is a pedophile and well know serial sexual harasser and rapist and releasing the Epstein files would conform what everyone other than the MAGAzi fascist bootlickers already know.

Much like everything else, he just needs to own it.

If he put out a message saying “Women are peak when they’re 13 and Jeff was the only guy who really knew that RIP” and dropped the file at the same time he could skate…

But he won’t say it because he’s spent years demonizing the Dems about the list while he’s on it. So since “the list” is bad and he’s on the list, it can’t come out, but since he’s in charge of releasing it and he has told his base to care they do. He could even say “I’m just on the list because Obama put me on there!” and he’d skate.

I don’t get it, honestly, but there’s too many scenarios where he gets off fine. His friends just don’t want it to come out because they’re not him and they won’t get off free.

That’s not Epstein list. It’s just book with a bunch of contacts. Some Epstein met, some Epstein wanted to meet.

      As per Snopes:

Because according to Mr. Rodriguez’s statement in the affidavit, the book was compiled by employees of Mr. Epstein, not by Mr. Epstein himself. Those contacted for this article acknowledged having met Ghislaine Maxwell, Mr. Epstein’s former girlfriend and “lady of the house,” and posited perhaps that was how their names ended up in the book. (It is unclear from the affidavit whether Ms. Maxwell is one of the “employees.” Ms. Buck said that she had met Ms. Maxwell at a boutique opening but that “she never phoned me.”)

The Integillience did a deep dive on the contacts in the book.

The FBI recovered extensive documentation when they raided the island. Epstein was essentially running a business trafficking young girls to his pedo island, and he made sure to keep records.

The list of customers was only ever partially released, and certain people’s names were redacted. One of them was heavily redacted due to his prominent public position. Trump was president at the time this partial list was released, and made every effort to say how he barely knew Epstein, even though there’s hundreds of pictures of them hugging and smiling both by themselves and with their wives.

What people want is the full list of names. Trump basically confirmed himself as on the list due to his behavior. But there are certainly many people who went to that island and should not be walking free but managed to slip under the radar.

It’s because Ivana is in the general section at the top, but there are specific sections after that, like ‘65th Street’, ‘Entertainment’, ‘Finance’, ‘Hotels’, ‘Island’, etc. Donald is listed under ‘Island’.

There’s also a section for ‘Massage - Florida’ that mostly includes girls’ first names (with separate entries for their moms in some cases), and several are redacted (IIRC because they were to be witnesses in his case).
